I have a beef with "country" performers. They are nothing but pop performers handed country songs written by someone else. They go to language classes to learn the twang. They write none of their own songs, nor their music, and know nothing about playing instruments. Flat out, they know nothing of our lifestyle. Not to mention the fact that she reminds me of Britney Spears.
Just give me some Hank Jr. and I'll be fine.
The first time I heard Country Boy was when I was 14, hanging out in a redneck bar in Ohio. I was into metal at the time, but I still loved it. Hank Jr. is a part of the reason that I moved from rock to true country music.
